3 Exercises to Do for a Stronger Core

Your core, making up the central part of your body, is essential for overall body strength and stability. Including much more than just your abdominal muscles—like your pelvis, hips and lower back—your core muscles help to improve your posture and balance, and can even reduce lower back pain and prevent other injuries.

If you’re tired of the ‘ol sit ups and crunches, grab your Jetti Poles and give these core exercises a try. By adding your Jetti Poles to these moves, you’ll intensify the work and impact. To take it one step further, add Jetti Weights to your poles.

Toe Touch

Lie on your back with your knees bent, arms extended overhead. Hold your poles between the grips and crunch upward toward your knees. To level up the intensity, extend one leg out as you crunch upward, reaching for your toes. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps each.

Side Crunch

To begin, step your feet out about hip-width apart, gently bend your knees, and make sure your legs and feet are turned out about 45 degrees. Holding your poles between the grips, bring your poles overhead with bent elbows. Slowly bend toward your right knee, and then stand back up, bend to your left knee, and back up. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps each.

Side Crunch

Knee Pull

Hold your poles wide between the grips and press the poles up over your head or slightly in front of you. Step forward with one leg and pull the opposite knee up (into a standing crunch) while pulling the poles down to your knee. Repeat on one side for 10 reps, and then complete 10 reps on the other side. Do 3 complete sets.
